 History of the Company
Alison Julien Collection® was founded in 2001 by JR, a metalsmith and designing jeweler who began creating jewelry for herself in the mid-80's. After years in corporate management, JR decided to make her passion for jewelry her full-time pursuit. She sought training in metalsmithing and gemology which enabled her to take her designs to new levels. The Alison Julien Collection® company was eventually born because people would frequently approach JR in public wanting to know where they could buy jewelry like hers. "On many occasions, folks have literally wanted to buy the jewelry right off my neck," recalls JR. "My greatest joy is knowing that people the world over are wearing and enjoying JR Designs© pieces which I have designed and created with my own two hands."

The JR Designs© aesthetic combines bold, organic shapes and sizes with keen attention to detail. Statement pieces range from fun and free-flowing to elegant and ornate, often featuring large colored gemstones and hand-forged metalwork. "I've always been a bit of a rock hound and the incredible beauty of natural elements, from diamonds and gemstones to fossils, never ceases to amaze me. I also love the brilliant gleam of precious metals, and the process of coaxing cold sheets of gold or silver into warmly polished 3-dimensional shapes and textures is immensely rewarding. Each piece I design presents a new adventure in engineering, assembly, patience and finesse - and I never tire of the creative process."
